We were inspired by the buckwheat pillows that originated in Japan centuries ago. After spending time with real people learning about their sleep and testing prototypes, we developed Hullwinkle. Just had my first hotel stay with it, and it was so nice not to have to toss and turn all night, fighting with hotel pillows to get comfortable. Easy to pack, didn’t take up a lot of space or weigh down my suitcase … I could not be happier with my Jetwinkle!
I tried the full size of the Hullwinkle pillow and after only the first night's sleep I was a believer! It's been over 2 months and I have had literally no pain for the entire time. I suffer from neck pain and I've tried feather pillows, small decorative pillows, "neck pillows" like the ones you take on the plane, couch cushions, etc, but I've never had long term relief. Until I was recommended to Hullwinkle. I actually sleep on the travel size pillow now and it's been a life saver.
My neck had bothered me two weeks leading up to receiving the pillow and after the first night I was feeling no neck pain. So far the pillow seems to be working. I thought the pillow was going to be too hard the first night but instead it has been the most comfortable pillow yet
I did find out I have 2 herniated discs and 2 bulging discs that can't be reversed, but I woke up this morning at a full night's sleep and not in excruciating pain!!!
This pillow does seem to help my neck, it was hard to get used to and I’m still not totally used to the part that it’s kinda hard but it’s helping me to wake up with less neck pain. I have 3 degenerative discs in my neck so I do expect some pain sometimes
My husband and I have also ordered the travel-sized pillows. When traveling on weekends, we have found that we do not get a good rest when sleeping without our Hullwinkle pillows. I have tried my Jetwinkle pillow at home. It certainly is the remedy for "good sleep" when traveling. We are traveling to see our granddaughter at college and we have our Jetwinkle pillows. Our granddaughter also has a Hullwinkle pillow that her father gave her. Sleep is important in our family!
It definitely took some getting used to this pillow but this is the only pillow I use now. I love the support it provides for the head and neck, I definitely feel less tension in my shoulders and neck. Great pillow!
I own both the full size Hullwinkle pillow and now I can't go without owning the travel size as well. Once you lay your head on a Hullwinkle pillow you will notice a considerable difference to any standard commercial pillows on the market. This pillow feels luxurious and definitely well made, the patented stitching aligns with my head and neck perfectly that I truly feel a better posture in my sleeping position. This pillow is perfect for me!

I have bought new pillows constantly over the last 20+ years looking for one that is supportive but comfortable. When I received the pillow, it took a few days to adjust, but the support for my neck and head is really outstanding and I have been sleeping excellent with it! I am a side sleeper so it has been challenging finding a pillow that properly supports my head and neck and it is really amazing how the pillow is firm, but yet still conforms to make it very comfortable and you can tell is very high quality. Best sleep I've had in years and I highly recommend it!
We can all use a good, uninterrupted night's sleep to restore our physiologic systems. Two things that can significantly reduce a quality night's sleep are chronic pain and instability of the neck. As a physical therapist that has issued these pillows to clients in need, I have heard nothing but positive remarks. The pillow is firm enough to prevent your head from sinking into the material and "rolling around." When one has cervical instability, muscle spasms and nerve impingement can be common symptoms that develop over a long period of time due to the dysfunctional movements of the head and neck. To date, my clients have reported a significant reduction in their neck pain, reduced burning/tingling/numbness in the hands, and reduced nightly wakings. I do believe that this product is a worthy purchase.
I purchased this on a total whim, both for my mother and for myself. My mother is a picky sleeper and after a week she absolutely loved this pillow. I was looking for a more firm, stable, and grounding place to rest my head and this pillow is it. In the recent heat wave we had, I was surprised by how much my head and neck stayed cool and didn't sweat. I also have much less neck pain (that I used to get frequently and led to migraines).
I have two other buckwheat pillows, from another company, that I love and use, so I am familiar with the concept of sleeping on this type of pillow. I even have a travel size, that I can take with me when traveling by car.
I was caught by the simple beauty of this pillow when I saw the ad, and while I was initially put off by the price, I decided to invest in one because my old ones have lasted so long.
My Hullwinkle arrived the day after purchase, and I have only had it a few days. It is heavy and firmly filled. I made a hole for my head in it, and was asleep in minutes. I felt cool and comfortable, and awoke without a sore neck or headache, which I get from soft pillows. I may remove some hulls, just to reduce the height a little.

I bought my Hullwinkle on a recommendation. I was skeptical about the claims as I always have trouble sleeping, but now after a month of use I can absolutely confirm that this pillow works!!! Pillow is super comfortable, I sleep through the night and rarely wake. Will add that I'm in menopause with hot flashes these haven't woken me in the middle of the night since I started using this pillow. Love that it's holistic without chemicals or fillers... This pillow may seem expensive on first glance, but it's SO VERY WORTH a good nights sleep! Highly recommend!
